That makes local SEO—keyword research, meta tag and content optimization, and link building—the logical starting point for local web marketing.”

The first thing our website marketing consultant usually tells new clients is to start with the basics: create a simple, effective website. You’ve got roughly 5-8 seconds to impress your audience, otherwise they’re gone for good. Your homepage needs to look professional and clutter-free. It also needs to have a clear “call to action” an easy way to buy, whether it’s through an e-commerce solution like an online catalog or shopping cart feature or a visible “Call for your free quote” form. As a multi-faceted website marketing, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that search engine optimization with prominent keywords should be the bare bones of any successful marketing endeavor.

Secondly, our website marketing suggests that you start a blog “ not just a half-hearted Blogger.com or ActiveRain.com blog“ but a REAL blog. People don’t want to read uninteresting copy written by someone who barely has time for breakfast, never mind writing a well-researched, informative and conversational 200-word masterpiece. Adding a blog not only improves your search engine ranking (new content is good!), but it also establishes you as an expert in your field and gives people a glimpse of a world they don’t know.

Thirdly, our website marketing understands that You Tube has become a great vehicle for many entrepreneurs to showcase what they’re about. Whether you’re a real estate agent looking to show a new house or a painting company looking to post a how-to video on pre-treating wood, use your own professionally made video to get people intrigued, then forward them to your website. Once you see that your video gets thousands of hits just sitting there online, you’ll realize what a valuable resource this could be! You can also later use your videos to embed in newsletters or add to your website as well.

Today more and more baby boomers are enlisting the help of website marketing to reach the much-coveted 18-35 demographic.  How does one connect with the Digital Generation “with kids who show up to work in flip-flops, leave early for ultimate Frisbee practice and speak a code language all their own?

Forrester Research’s 2008 North American Techno graphics Benchmark Survey sheds a little light on young adults today “ although, their report suggests that Gen X (29 -42 year olds) and Gen Y (18 “ 28 year olds) are two very different animals. The two groups together account for roughly 101 million Americans.

The survey found that 9/10 of Gen Y own computers. They spent more time online than watching TV and 42% watch online videos at least monthly. Of those surveyed, 82% own cell phones and 72% of those mobile users also send or receive text messages.  (Perhaps that’s why website marketing consultants are predicting a surge in cross-promotional efforts between websites and text message ads.)

By contrast, Gen X uses technology when it’s absolutely necessary. For instance, 69% of Gen Xers shopped online and 65% banked online. Additionally, 21% read blogs monthly (compared to 15% in 2007) and 61% use text messages (up from 49% last year). This market is typically harder to reach since they tend to “see through” marketing ploys, which is why a website marketing perspective could come in handy.

“Gen Y is the audience that most companies are struggling to understand right now because it’s key to their future revenue growth,” said Forrester Research analyst Charles Golvin. ” Gen Xers use technology when it supports a lifestyle need, while technology is so deeply embedded into everything Gen Yers do that they are truly the first native online population.”

A recent Nielsen Online survey found that 80% of the consumers who made electronics purchases in retail locations visited the store’s website first. Long gone are the days where we senselessly meander a store, trying to absorb every last molecule of data from the product’s packaging. Now we’re online scouring testimonials, product details, company history and comparison charts like there’s no tomorrow. Therefore, the study concludes, having an experienced website marketing working for you is vital to more than just your e-commerce, but an important component of your offline sales as well.

Additionally, 53% of those surveyed said they purchased from the retailer whose website they had spent the most time browsing. Sites with blogs, videos, detailed descriptions, article links and testimonials did fairly well then. So even sites like Target or Barnes & Noble — that already have recognizable name brands – found that the work of website marketing really boosted their sales.

If given the choice of only researching their purchases online or at a retail outlet, 58% of the respondents said they’d choose online. Nielsen panelists were surprised to learn that consumers’ desire to research encompassed every type of product – even pet food! To research safety, product recalls, ingredients and nutrition, 44% of pet food consumers went online to learn more before buying.

Website Marketing SEO

We’ve all gotten them: generic confirmation emails saying “Your order has been processed” or “Here is your order tracking number in case you have any problems.” These emails always make it through spam filters into our inbox, we always open them and look at the number – even though we already know what’s in that email, and we always save that email for a later date – even if we’re 99% sure we won’t refer to it ever again. So our website marketing wracked our brains: How can we make this concept work for our clients??

Best Local Website marketing Company

Email has long been touted as an effective marketing medium because it’s so cost effective. One option you can seek through website marketing is to have custom-written marketing material implemented into confirmation emails or shipping notifications. We find that these emails are a great place to offer a coupon, tell readers about a sale, invite customers to your monthly newsletter or announce a new product. Eye-catching images and copy is placed beneath the order confirmation to appeal to your targeted clients – you know… the ones who are doing all the buying!

Website marketing research suggests that most online business comes from repeat customers. These people are your most valued clients. If they get into the habit of ordering regularly, you can be rest assured they’re also telling their friends. Rather than bombarding them with all sorts of junk mail, why not respect their time by adding key content to your confirmation emails instead?

Web 2.0 Marketing

The common misconception about website marketing 2.0 (sites like Blogger, Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, Twitter and Flickr) is that kids are the primary audience. However, a recent comScore study found that more than half of the visitors to social networking sites are 35 or older.

Website Marketing 2.0 Strategies

At a Phoenix seminar titled “Communications and Social Media: Next Steps” tackled some of the many issues that come up with website marketing 2.0 strategies. For instance, how can one keep up with all the visitors, convert virtual friends into sales and track meaningful data to gauge progress? These are complicated questions that a website marketing professional should be able to answer.

There are many starting points for an effective website marketing social networking campaign. Jessica Hansen, a PR executive, said she created and maintains a Facebook page for her staff, in addition to starting a Wikipedia entry. She also shares content on sites like del.icio.ous, participates in Twitter and Myspace discussions, blogs consistently and tracks 150 blog feeds to stay on top of new information.

Website Marketing Attracts Business

Encouraging consumers to offer feedback on your website marketing can be a great tool. Dell’s IdeaStorm blog and My Starbucks Idea both receive consumer suggestions and allow their fans to rate ideas for new products, services or promotions.  This is the future of website marketing.

What Should I Spend on a SEO Marketing Company?

Ah yes, it’s the quintessential question that rarely yields a straight answer, isn’t it? It’s sort of like when I began copywriting / blogging and I found no one wanted to advertise their salaries for fear of low-balling or over-inflating the whole industry. Yet I’m a firm believer that there is an honest answer for every question, so I research.

Affordable Local Website Marketing Starting at $150 per month!

According to SEO expert Paul Bruemmer, the basic rule of thumb for marketing budgets is to spend 4-10% of your gross revenues on your marketing budget. On average, companies spend around 6%. He recommends that for every million dollars you make this year, spend $60,000 on your marketing budget, with at least $25,000 of that allocated for your search engine SEO marketing company budget.

A 2006 study done by Outsell found that companies are spending roughly 61.8% of their online marketing budgets on their own websites.

Additionally, the study found that online advertising grew 19% and search engine advertising grew 26%, while radio and print ads grew 2%.

Local Website Marketing SEO to the Rescue!

Last year, SEMPO reports that more than half of the average company’s marketing budget is spent online, while expensive radio and TV ad budgets get reallocated to Internet efforts. The majority of search engine  Local SEO marketing company spending was in paid placement with pay-per-click advertising with more than $10 billion spent on this technique. The most popular sites to target for paid inclusion opportunities include: Google Adwords, Yahoo sponsored search, MSN Live Search and Ask.com.

While 4/5 online advertisers engage in search engine optimization, this only accounts for just over $1.2 billion in spending, making it one of the most popular (and cost effective) marketing models. As for tracking, more than 50% of respondents tracked the following success metrics for their SEM campaigns: site traffic, post-click conversion, click-thru rate, ROI, cost-per-click, cost-per-sale transaction, and sales volume.

Only 7% of the companies surveyed used in-house online marketers, while a whopping 90% used search media firms (like OMNI) and 2.9% used search engine marketing (technology development) agencies.
